Nov 2 , 2005 - Man Trapped in Car Saved by Cocker Spaniel
Here's a great reason to take your dog for a car ride. Michael Bosch was backing out of his driveway when we went too far and rolled down a hill into a ravine. He was trapped; his legs were pinned between the steering wheel and a stump that pierced the roof of his car. With him in his car was his cocker spaniel Honey.
Trapped in Car
After several hours of being trapped in his car Bosch managed to roll down a window. He told Honey to go for help. I don't know about your dog but my dog would probably just stare at me or go chase a squirrel. Not Honey, she went for help, and brought back a neighbor who called rescuers. Mr. Bosch had been hanging upside down for six hours and was found just in time.
It's amazing that the Cocker Spaniel actually went for help, and found a neighbor who found Mr. Bosch. But here's the really amazing thing. Honey was adopted just two weeks earlier from an animnal shelter. So the next time you leave your house and your dog gives you that look that says "Can I go with you" load him up in the car, roll down the windows and let him enjoy. You may also want to have your K9 watch old Lassie reruns.
